Tonight marks the start of the men’s Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Basketball Tournament. For those who read the preview for the women’s tournament, the men’s tournament works the same way, with the top eight teams qualifying. The all games in all rounds will be hosted by the higher seeds. Tonight, there will be four quarterfinal round games, two involving local teams from Metro Detroit, though they’ll both be on the road as lower seeds, Michigan-Dearborn and Marygrove. The slate of games tonight are as follows.
#8 Siena Heights (10-12, 16-14) at #1 Cornerstone (20-2, 27-3)
#5 Michigan-Dearborn (13-9, 19-11) at #4 Northwestern Ohio (13-9, 18-12)
#6 Aquinas (13-9, 17-13) at #3 Indiana Tech (15-7, 20-10)
#7 Marygrove (10-12, 11-19) at #2 Davenport (17-5, 23-7)
Both semifinal games will take place Saturday and the championship game on Sunday. Stay tuned to find out how Michigan-Dearborn and Marygrove did in my Thursday recap. You heard it from me, Seth Walker.
